Kevin Durant will make his return to action Wednesday when the Phoenix Suns host the Minnesota Timberwolves, CBS Sports' Bill Reiter confirmed. Durant suffered a sprained ankle during warmups ahead of a game against his former team, the Oklahoma City Thunder, and has been out recovering from that injury ever since. He missed almost two months earlier in the season while recovering from an MCL sprain. Durant has played only three games for the Suns since being traded from the Brooklyn Nets in February. The Dallas Mavericks picked up one of their biggest wins of the season on Friday night in stunning fashion, as Maxi Kleber hit a buzzer-beating 3-pointer to lift them over the Los Angeles Lakers, 111-110.  After Anthony Davis missed one of two free throws with 6.7 seconds remaining, the Mavericks had the ball with a chance to tie or win the Game . But for most of those 6.7 seconds , it looked like they might not even get a shot off, as Kyrie Irving dribbled around and around with multiple defenders right on top of him. Eventually, he spotted Kleber open on the wing and fired a pass his way. This has been a frustrating season for Steph Curry and the Golden State Warriors, who due in large part to various injuries to their former MVP are stuck in sixth place in the Western Conference at 35-33. And with the Minnesota Timberwolves and Dallas Mavericks hot on their heels, a top-six seed and automatic playoff spot is no guarantee. MILWAUKEE -- With less than 30 seconds to play on Thursday night, the Milwaukee Bucks were clinging to a four-point lead over the Brooklyn Nets' reserves, who had made a furious comeback to get back into the game. The nervous energy flowing through Fiserv Forum rose as David Duke Jr. sped toward the basket to try and make it a two-point game.  Against any other team, against any other opponent, he likely would have done so. But not against Brook Lopez.  The Bucks' Defensive Player of the Year candidate shifted over at the last second, stretched out his right arm and swiped Duke's attempt off the glass. LeBron James is expected to be reevaluated in three weeks after the team announced that he has a tendon injury in his right foot. It was previously reported that James will not require surgery on the injured foot, per Turner Sports ' Chris Haynes. James' return could depend on where the Los Angeles Lakers are in the standings after the three-week checkpoint, per ESPN's Adrian Wojnarowski.  The 38-year-old superstar hurt his foot during the third quarter of Sunday's win against the Dallas Mavericks, but stayed in the game and finished with 26 points, eight rebounds and three assists. The NBA and NBPA have agreed to delay Wednesday's deadline for both sides to opt out of the current CBA until March 31, the league announced Monday. That deadline was initially Dec. 15, 2022. It had already been pushed back once, to Wednesday, with the idea that a revised CBA before the trade deadline could have offered teams clarity on the league's future economic climate while deals were still being made. That ultimately did not come to fruition, though, and the deadline has been extended yet again. The NBA 's current CBA expires after the 2023-24 season. Without a new CBA in place, the league is at risk of a lockout. Given the league's historic revenue right now, neither side wants a work stoppage, so, hopefully, a new deal is reached before any Game s are jeopardized. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry has been ruled out indefinitely after suffering partial tears to his superior tibiofibular ligaments and interosseous membrane, as well as a lower leg contusion, the team announced on Sunday. An official timeline will be announced at a later date, but per Shams Charania, the injuries are expected to keep him out for multiple weeks.  Curry suffered the injury on Saturday night during the Warriors' 119-113 win over the Dallas Mavericks, who were playing without Luka Doncic. Recently-named All-Star starter Luka Doncic has been upgraded to questionable for the Dallas Mavericks' matchup with the Detroit Pistons on Monday, the team announced on Sunday. Doncic suffered a sprained ankle during the first quarter of the Mavericks' win over the Phoenix Suns on Thursday, and missed the team's loss to the Utah Jazz on Saturday.  With just under nine minutes to play versus the Suns, Doncic tried to drive to the basket but was cut off by Cameron Johnson and had to spin back the other way. As he did so, he stepped right on Mikal Bridges' foot and awkwardly rolled his left ankle . He immediately winced in pain and hobbled back down the floor.
