The 2021 world champion came into the weekend with a twisted ankle and fractured toe after an accident while running in Amsterdam in the build-up to the event. After securing a podium in the sprint on Saturday, Quartararo’s Dutch GP meeting took a turn for the worse as he further displaced that fracture with a crash on the third lap of Sunday’s grand prix. Fellow French rider Johann Zarco (Pramac Ducati) was also taken out of the race in the incident. In addition to news of the fracture aggravation, Quartararo appeared with his left arm in a sling after returning from the medical centre. “[The arm recovery] is not going to be so long,” he said. “For the foot, I will have to check, but it [is expected to be] surgery. “I don’t know if I could race right now, it’s pretty painful. I think I will take a rest now, but I expect to be ready for Silverstone.” Fabio Quartararo, Yamaha Factory Racing Photo by: Gold and Goose / Motorsport Images Quartararo came into the grand p

As the fast-moving events unfolded in Russia, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said Moscow is suffering “full-scale weakness” and that Kyiv was protecting Europe from “the spread of Russian evil and chaos.” In his address, Pu

Bukayo Saka hauled off with injury in England's match at Malta

Bukayo Saka had to be substituted at half-time of England's Euro 2024 qualifier with Malta. The Arsenal winger was one of the Three Lions' key performers in the opening 45 minutes at the National Stadum in Ta' Qali. He had to be withdrawn at the interval having rolled his ankle under a slide challenge towards the end of the half. Phil Foden was brought on as his replacement. England went into the break three goals to the good, with Saka playing an instrumental role in their opener. Trent Alexander-Arnold's through ball from midfield found Saka racing in behind, and his cross was diverted in by Malta defender Ferdinando Apap with Harry Kane lurking in the box. Alexander-Arnold himself grabbed England's second goal of the evening when the hosts failed to clear danger, before Kane added a third from the penalty spot after being hauled down by Matthew Guillaumier. Saka did get a sight of goal before the end of the half, forcing goalkeeper Henry Bonello into a sprawlin
