Forspoken Developer Luminous Productions Is Merging With Square Enix

Forspoken developer Luminous Productions is merging with its publisher, Square Enix. This is despite Forspoken being met with mixed reviews from critics and an even worse reception from fans, criticised for its dull combat, empty open world, and "cringy" dialogue. Luminous Productions just confirmed the move on Twitter, revealing that the merger will be complete by May 1. The statement reassures fans that it remains focussed on Forspoken "for now", but it's not clear how long it will be permitted to support the Game beyond this. Related: Forspoken Thinks Its Worst Feature Is Its Best Feature "Beginning on May 1, our talented team will join Square Enix to deliver new, innovative gaming experiences to players across the globe," reads the statement shared on Twitter. It goes on to say that the team will still work on Forspoken, and is currently working on a patch that addresses "overall Game performance." The stateme...

The Last Of Us Fans Discuss Whether Eating Infected Is Viable

Like any post-apocalyptic setting, food is hard to come by in The Last of Us. Unless you're holed up with Bill and Frank, or living the communist life in Jackson, you're probably going to have to eat out of a 20-year-old Chef Boyardee can. Of course, you can always skewer a defenseless little bunny with a bow and arrow, like a monster. In such times, survivors need to be smart and resourceful, taking advantage of any scraps they can find. Probably thinking along the same lines, one Redditor wondered why people in The Last of Us don't just eat all that food that's scattered about everywhere. Of course, they're talking about mushrooms. The infected have mushrooms all over them, so why not just eat the infected, proposed the aptly named weedmaster6669. RELATED: The Last Of Us Doesn't Care About Realism And Neither Should You "I'm not really in the fandom so forgive my lack of knowledge," they warned. "Like people eat mush...

Warzone 2's New Map Has AI Enemies And Players Aren't Happy

Call of Duty: Warzone 2.0 just received its season 2 update bringing the new Ashika Island map. Warzone players are already praising the smaller, more intimate map for being much more chaotic and action-packed than Al Mazrah, but a new update has those same players up in arms. Search & Seizure Contracts have arrived on Ashika Island, according to Raven Software. These contracts task you with tracking down Shadow Company mercenaries that have stolen vehicles all over Ashika Island. You're tasked with killing those mercenaries and recovering the vehicle, dropping it off at a designated location while avoiding airstrikes from the pissed-off mercs you just robbed. NBA Power Rankings: Celtics lead pack at All-Star break; Knicks make top 10; Lakers and Warriors disappoint

The NBA All-Star break isn't just for the players. It's a good time for fans to reset, take a deep breath, and look back at the season which is now three-quarters of the way done, despite our tendency to call it the "halfway" point. The idea of retrospect goes for us too, and we've decided to use this week's Power Rankings to look back at the season as a whole, rather than just the previous week. Major trades stand to shake things up in the home stretch, but a clear hierarchy was established before the break. The Boston Celtics have been the class of the field for the majority of the season, with the Western Conference-leading Denver Nuggets and powerhouse Milwaukee Bucks just a hair behind them. Within striking distance are the Philadelphia 76ers, Cleveland Cavaliers and Memphis Grizzlies, who all put up impressive records before the All-Star break. In terms of surprises, prior to the se...

Yet Another Fix For Overwatch 2's Matchmaking Is On The Way

Perhaps one of the biggest issues facing Overwatch 2 since launch is its matchmaking. For weeks now, fans have been complaining about being placed with players who finished Top 500 just a few seasons ago, even if they're in Gold. But once again, Blizzard has a fix on the way. After the most recent update appears to have done little to address matchmaking concerns, Overwatch executive producer Jared Neuss has confirmed that more fixes are on the way. This comes just days after the last "fix", but also as complaints continue to be sent Blizzard's way. Related: This Week In Overwatch 2: More Dating, More Matchmaking Fixes, More Weird Bugs This comes via Twitter, with a fan complaining to Neuss that even after the recent update, they're getting put in Gold matches despite being in Master. "I believe we'll have updates next week in Aaron [Keller]'s blog," says Neuss. "Some improvements were made but a new round of chang...

Rainbow Six Siege Takes Offensive Approach To Cheaters By Giving Them Input Lag

Unfortunately, cheaters can be found in almost every online multiplayer Game . Whether it's aimbots and wallhacks in shooters, or idle-miners and real-world-money spenders in MMOs, video Game s are plagued by them – primarily due to the amount of cheating software easily available for purchase. Different Game s have different ways of dealing with them, but the most prevalent is a ban wave. However ban waves are slow, imprecise, and can be worked around, So, Ubisoft decided it's going to mess with Rainbow Six Siege spoofers. Spoofers are cheaters who use tools that allow them to play with a mouse and keyboard setup – which is undeniably more precise – on console servers, where everyone uses a controller. In many cases, they then use another tool to change their IP address, allowing them to evade getting banned. Rainbow Six Siege has been struggling with this issue for a long time now, so Ubisoft has come up with a creative way to handle it. Mousetrap is th...
