Chelsea predicted lineup vs Wolves - Premier League

Chelsea have been dealt a tough hand by the Premier League as they're on their travels for the first Christmas Eve fixture in the division since 1995.

The Blues visit Wolves on Sunday hoping to edge closer to the European places after an up-and-down start to the 2023/24 campaign.

Chelsea have undoubtedly shown promise under Mauricio Pochettino, but they've also endured some low moments with the Argentine at the helm and inconsistency has plagued them thus far.

Their injury list remains extensive, although things should brighten up on that front in the new year.

Here's how Chelsea could line up for their Christmas Eve duel at Molineux.

GK: Dorde Petrovic - The penalty-saving specialist will enjoy a long run in the side following Robert Sanchez's injury.

RB: Axel Disasi - Poch has so far favoured the defensive security of Disasi over Malo Gusto since Reece James succumbed to another injury setback.

CB: Thiago Silva - The Brazilian veteran has been a constant in the Chelsea defence this season, and he won't drop out of the side this weekend. Silva should earn a breather at some point over the festive period.

CB: Benoit Badiashile - The left-footed defender didn't cover himself in glory for Newcastle's goal in midweek, but it'd be harsh to drop Badiashile given that he's often impressed in a Chelsea shirt.

LB: Levi Colwill - Ben Chilwell is on the comeback trail and he could make the matchday squad. He almost certainly won't start, though, which means Colwill should continue at left-back.

CM: Moises Caicedo - The former Brighton midfielder was fortunate not to receive his marching orders on Tuesday night, but he was excellent during the Blues' win over Sheffield United. Caicedo's starting to settle.

CM: Conor Gallagher - Enzo Fernandez is unlikely to feature with a groin injury. If he does miss out, Gallagher will drop into a deeper position as he did at the start of the season.

RM: Cole Palmer - He may have been aided by a few penalties, but no Chelsea player has more Premier League goal contributions than Palmer (nine) this season.

AM: Christopher Nkunku - The Frenchman finally made his first comPetitive appearance for the Blues in midweek, and he could be thrust into the limelight right away on Christmas Eve.

LM: Raheem Sterling - The Englishman is playing with a chip on his shoulder and has been among the club's standout performers this term. While Mykhailo Mudryk has shown signs of life in recent weeks, Sterling has to start.

ST: Nicolas Jackson - Jackson matched his yellow card tally last weekend as he scored his seventh Premier League goal. With Chelsea targeting a striker in January, who knows how long the Senegalese international has as the club's leading man up top?
