Today's Best NHL Player Props & Odds: Josh Morrissey fuels the Jets | Pickswise

After last night’s monster 11-Game NHL slate, we have just 3 Games on the board to get us ready for another huge night on Thursday. While that may mean less action, that doesn’t mean there aren’t valuable opportunities in the betting markets. In fact, we’ve still found 2 great spots in terms of player props. The first will likely be quite obvious, but regardless, let’s get into our best NHL prop bet picks for today.

Along with our best NHL player props, be sure to check out all of our NHL picks for today’s action.

Josh Morrissey over 0.5 assists (-110)

Odds available at time of publishing. Playable to -135.

As soon as you see that one of the first puck-drops tonight is a playoff contender at home against the San Jose Sharks, you already know where we’re headed to begin our NHL prop bet picks. The Winnipeg Jets have not been playing their best hockey whatsoever, and even they would admit that, but they still have a firm top-3 spot in the Central Division. A home matchup against the NHL’s worst team is the perfect recipe for them to right the ship.

In that regard, we’re focused on defenseman Josh Morrissey leading the charge. He’s on the ice for over 24 minutes a Game and is an assist machine. Of his 35 points, 28 are helpers, and while that’s a mild number by his standards, the Sharks are allowing the most goals per Game. He also hasn’t had Kyle Connor Healthy for quite a few Games, and with him on the ice, Winnipeg’s offense can get back on track. Therefore, the first of our NHL prop bet picks is for Josh Morrissey to record an assist.

Kirill Kaprizov over 0.5 goals (+140)

Odds available at time of publishing. Playable to +120.

We expect Morrissey to help a teammate score a goal, but in the late game, we’re eyeing a skater to find the back of the net himself. That would be the young star on the Minnesota Wild, Kirill Kaprizov. He’s one of the best young goal-scorers in the NHL, and while the Arizona Coyotes haven’t had as poor goaltending this year, Kaprizov is as matchup-proof as it gets. He’s coming off a 2-assist game, and has had multiple points in back-to-back games, but it’s time to notch a goal.

It’s certainly not for a lack of shots, as he took 6 in Minnesota’s most recent game. He’s missed some time this season, but another 40-goal season isn’t completely out of the question. Even after missing several games, he’s still leading the team in points with 49 in 45 games. He’s also had a goal in every other game against Arizona over the past 5, so we can even ride that trend as well. Regardless, he’s a great enough shooter where we’re confident adding Kirill Kaprizov to score a goal to our NHL prop bet picks.
